There is a Lot of Wildlife around here.

My job has been keeping me really busy and I haven't had time to get myself into trouble or to write.

These are some photos taken in and around our marina.

Manatee number 1

Manatee number 2

Manatee number 3

Great Blue Heron - this one lives at the marina, we can find him every day.

Green Heron

Little Blue Heron

Sandhill Cranes - these are about 3 feet tall and have a red cap on their heads.

Sailboats make good resting places.  Just so long as it's not our sailboat.

Cormorant - This one was sitting on a dinghy and just as I snapped the photo he took off, so I got a really lucky awesome photo.

Osprey - hard to see, but he has a fish in his talons that he is busy eating.

Pelicans and Cormorants

White Ibis

More White Ibis - the one brown one is a juvenile, they start out dark and get lighter as they get older.

Barracuda! - This one is about 4" long.  That's right 1/3 of a foot.

This is a school of Crevalle Jacks or Common Jacks.  They gather under our dock each afternoon then go out hunting as the sun sets.  There are over 50 of them in the school and they are about 2 feet long.  They swim around the marina rounding up the small fish and driving them up against the boat hulls to trap and eat them.  We can see the little fish jump out of the water to escape, but to no avail.
